Tips & Tricks

This page will be dedicated to various features of the Cab3 APP and Base3 that have not been covered on other pages.

Clearing the Base3 Database #

In rare instances, the Base3’s internal engine database might become corrupted. This can only be remedied by resetting the database back to factory defaults. This is a good reason to back up your database to a file or memory module occasionally. To clear the database, use the following instructions with the Cab3 APP:

  1. Slide the Base3’s AP/Network switch to AP.
  2. Connect Smart Device to the Base3’s Wi-Fi network.
  3. Open the Cab3 APP and connect to the Base3.
  4. From the Base3 tab homescreen, tap the Base3 config button at the bottom right of the screen to go to Base Details screen.
  5. Tap “DATABASE BACKUP”.
  6. Tap “Erase Database”. When it asks if you are sure, tap yes.
  7. You can now either restore the database from a saved file or memory module, or you can go back to the homescreen and start entering engines back into the database.

TMCC AC Pullmor Stall Setting #

Some early TMCC engines with AC Pullmor motors allow you to set stall, which is the voltage applied when you first start to move the engine. For more information on stall, see individual engine manuals.

To set stall using the Cab3 APP, use the following procedure:

  1. Program the engine into the Base3’s database like normal.
  2. Press ENG and the TMCC ID you assigned in step 1. Press SET. The headlight will begin to blink slowly indicating that it is in STALL SET mode.
  3. Increase throttle slowly until desired minimum speed is achieved.
  4. Once again, press ENG and the TMCC ID number. Press SET. The headlight will go back to solid ON, indicating that it has accepted the STALL value.

NOTE! Do not use SET when simply changing to an engine’s ID# as this will begin STALL SET mode. Instead, use ENG ID# Enter when selecting an engine to control.
